The women’s forum has kicked off in Kuzbass as part of a series of events of the third Eurasian Women’s Forum.
The plenary session was attended by the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko.
The two-day ‘The Role of Women in the Development of Industrial Regions in a Changing World: COVID-19’ Forum is being attended by more than 2,000 people from 15 countries.
The programme includes panel discussions and expert sessions on women’s involvement in the development of industry, science, the digitalization of the economy, and social projects. The forum participants will also visit industrial, cultural, and sports facilities in Kemerovo.
The forum is being attended by: Chair of the Council of the Eurasian Women’s Forum and Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Galina Karelova, First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on the Budget and Financial Markets and EWF Council Member Elena Perminova, Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Tatyana Kusaiko, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and EWF Council Member Gulnaz Kadyrova, Entrepreneur and InfoWatch Founder Natalya Kasperskaya, and representatives of business, science, and non-profit organizations.
This marks the second time that the Kuzbass region has hosted a women’s forum. The first forum ‘The Role of Women in the Development of Industrial Regions’ was held in Novokuznetsk in 2019.
