Female workers in Kuzbass were presented with awards at the 2nd Women’s Forum ‘The Role of Women in the Development of Industrial Regions in a Changing World: COVID-19’.
Commendations were presented to 26 women by the Speaker of the Russian Federation Council for their achievements in labour and numerous years of conscientious work. They also received commemorative medals ‘300th Anniversary of the Establishment of Kuzbass’ for their great contributions to the region’s socioeconomic development as well as certificates of honour from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade for their conscientious work.
Representatives of the Kemerovo Region who received awards not only demonstrated success in production, but also in implementing socially significant projects.
It would be impossible to list the names of all the worthy female workers of Kuzbass. Women make up almost half of the skilled workforce employed in manufacturing. Almost every fifth woman working at enterprises in the Kemerovo Region has a higher education. Women hold 40% of leadership positions in industry in the region.
The meeting with Kuzbass female workers was attended by: Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, Kemerovo Region Governor Sergei Tsivilev, and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Gulnaz Kadyrova.
The meeting and award ceremony took place at Koks, a major Russian coke-chemical producer and one of the most eco-friendly production facilities in the world. The plant has a closed water circulation cycle and salt-free dispensing of coke on batteries, which guarantees the city’s environmental safety.
