Objectives:

  • Assistance in increasing Russia's cultural and humanitarian presence through cooperation with women's organizations of compatriots abroad.
  • Promoting legislative support for female compatriots abroad, protecting their rights and freedoms, including through parliamentary diplomacy.
  • Preparing proposals for the establishment of an international female compatriots' movement.
  • Conducting activities aimed at preserving and popularizing the Russian language through the broad involvement of women in joint plans and programmes.
  • Attracting female compatriots to the projects of the Eurasian Women's Forum Council and to other women's discussion platforms.

Relevance:

The most important issue for our compatriots is the preservation of future generations in a Russian language environment and the existence of stable ties with Russia.

According to the state monitoring of relations with compatriots abroad in 2018, women noticeably prevail in the gender composition of our foreign communities. In some regions, the proportion of women in Russian diasporas reaches 70-80%.

Female compatriots head about 70% of all 100 coordinating councils of Russian compatriots formed to date, being the driving and unifying force of the community.

The potential of many women cannot be realized solely through the work of CSIRE, and new formats for humanitarian and business interaction have become necessary.

Women are mothers who play an important role in raising the younger generation. It is through the mother that the child learns the national language, traditions and culture, receives spiritual and moral education, the first and perhaps most important lessons of the history of her family and her Motherland, learns to defend her opinion and fight for the truth.

It is especially important to support mothers in the mission of upbringing, as it is historical memory and the memory of the common Victory in the Great Patriotic War that is of particular importance in the identity of the Russian community abroad.

Compatriots are the face of Russia abroad, their support is important in opposing attempts to rewrite history, diminishing the role of the Soviet soldier in the victory over fascism.

Today, Russian female compatriots face various restrictions on their opportunities: the elimination of the Russian-language education system, violation of their rights and legitimate interests, including the right of mothers to care for and raise their children.

Compatriots need to learn how to give a consolidated answer to these questions. And this presupposes a new format of organization for the support and assistance to compatriots, for example, through the creation of the International Female Compatriots' Movement.
